Syariah court highest authority: Suhakam
Suhakam says we must understand and respect the law of the nation, and because Islam is the official religion, the highest authority is the Syariah Court.
The rights group’s commissioner N Siva Subramaniam said Moorthy’s family should cease legal action to challenge the controversial religious court decision that he had died a Muslim.
Suhakam, he said, does not interfere on matters that have been decided by the courts.
He said that if the family lodged a report with Suhakam, the Commission could probe whether human rights principles have been violated in this case.
“But whatever that have been said and done, the laws of the nation are important, everybody must follow the law, and there is a need for us to live together as a multi-racial society,” he stressed.

Imposition is the game and that will overflow that embankment given time and enough power(as with a brick, given enough power, it flies too). How exactly does that convince outsiders about the veracity and understanding about Democracy as expected from them? Looks like Suhakam subscribe to the Cairo “Declaration of Human Rights” as opposed to that Universal One in the UN. Why be a member of the UN at all in this defining but obfuscated issue?
