Wait a minute
Wait a minute Mr Postman, wait a minute, wait a minute…
Surely the ADUNs in Sabah must cross over en masse to make it a Pakatan state before a promise to 30 or so Sabah MPs to cross the floor and the state gets 20% of the loot from Petronas can be made.
If not, then it just means giving the money to Umno.

This post is a little confused. If I understood its meaning, it is trying to say:
Sabah must convert to PR
After Sabah has converted to PR, then PR will promise to give 20% of Petronas money to Sabah.
But if Sabah did not convert to PR, then PR will not have control of the government and will not have the authority to give any oil money to Sabah anyway. Which means that if PR did not get Sabah, UMNO will continue to control the government and hence continue to control the oil money.
Therefore, it seems that the PR has nothing to lose in promising 20% of the oil money to Sabah even before Sabah cross the isle. In other words, PR should immediately say to the Sabah mp’s that if they cross to PR, then PR will give 20% of the oil money to Sabah. As the Chinese saying goes, “羊毛生在羊身上?quot; (yang mao sheng zai yang shen shang - goat hair grows on the goat body. That is to say, you pay the people from what you got from him. Which in this case means that PR can only get control of the oil money with the help of Sabah. And only when PR got control of the oil money can it pay any part of it to Sabah.)

Even if every MP in Sabah jumps ship, Sabah is still controlled by BN. If the people of Sabah are to benefit from the 20%, a simple majority of the BN state assemblymen must also crossover.

OK. I got you.
But the funding is controlled by the national parliament. If the state assemblymen don’t crossover, then Sabah won’t get the oil money in the first place. So PR should immediately promise 20% oil money to Sabah with the proviso that a simple majority of state assemblymen must crossover before the money is released to Sabah. Now, the state assemblymen will have the incentive to crossover.
As I understand it, the question is whether PR should make the promise now or later. I think PR should make the promise now with the proviso as I indicated above.
