EXCUSme Dr M, your slip is showing
Mahathir made a very interesting comment today in his blog.
He said: “I note that now the government has recognised the importance of the blogs. It is proposing to have its own blog. But more importantly the mainstream media are now quoting from the blog and even dare to write on formerly forbidden subjects.”
I’ll like to see him clarify in future posts what he meant by “formerly forbidden subjects”.
“Formerly” is Mahathir’s era.

good catch!! amazing!!!

Mahathir quote:
“But more importantly the mainstream media are now quoting from the blog and even dare to write on formerly forbidden subjects.”
Being forbidden in itself means nothing. A forbidden subject may deserve to be forbidden such as teaching people how to rob and rape. But there are also subjects such as racial harmony that had been forbidden by the Mahathir administration that amounted to a suppression of the freedom of speech to deny the Chinese and the Indians from pointing out that “racial harmony” under the old UMNO rule presided over by Mahathir himself was nothing more than neo-apartheid. Rcial harmony under Mahathir was just the supremacy of the Malays. Anybody who objected to this gross violation of human rights were labeled criminals and hauled off to jail on charges of treason for destabilizing “racial harmony”. Therefore, forbidding the discussion of racial harmony was itself a gross violation of human rights. And Mahathir should be held accountable for this heinous violation of the human rights of millions of Chinese and Indians.
It is obvious that all kinds of subjects that were forbidden under the unjust and corrupt regime under Mahathir himself were violations of human rights. These include NEP, royalty and their excessive and un-democratic rights, the dogma of ketuanan Melayu, ketuanan Islam, etc. Even the name of Malaysia should be changed. After all, there are no Malays in Sabah and Sarawak. Even in Malay peninsula, the Orang Aslis have lived there tens of thousands of years before any Malay set foot there. If the land is to be named after the oldest indigenous people, then it should be called Aslia and not Malaysia. These are all subjects that need to be discussed so that at long last a truly harmonious and equal society can be instituted in Malaysia.

Mahathir does not understand what is fairness. Like one who talks much about the Tao knows the least about it. Worse is, however, the stupidizing and perverting effect his misconception has on the unwary populace which may take some real effort to correct. But the harm that’s done is deep.
