Petrol bombs thrown at DAP HQ in Ipoh

Posted:15:18 May-15-2008 Filed under: DAP (行动党)

Three homemade Molotov cocktails were hurled at DAP’s Perak headquarters in Ipoh early this morning but no one was hurt from the attack.

In the 2.20am incident, two persons on a motorbike with helmets were spotted hurling the fire bombs outside the DAP office.

One of the bombs broke the glass of the office’s window which was located on the second floor of the two-storey shoplot, a stone throw away from the Perak state assembly building.

However, the bombs bounced off the window as it had been boarded off and they fell onto the street below. ”Continued”

Have you ever seen Selangor Super Senior Exco Teresa Kok’s tits?

Doubt it. :-)

During the recent swearing-in of Exco members, Teresa was apparently advised to wear baju kurung to the palace in future as she was told "my blouse is a bit too short."

What do you think?

Sidelined Teng has no ill will

Posted:13:07 Mar-26-2008 Filed under: DAP (行动党), Selangor

by Syed Jaymal Zahiid, malaysiakini, Mar 26. Sungai Pinang state assemblyperson Teng Chang Khim today said that he held no ill-feeling against the newly formed PKR-DAP-PAS state government or with the Selangor

DAP following his exclusion from the new state exco line up. He clarified that there was no ulterior intention in his part for missing the swearing-in ceremony of the new exco members on Monday.

Speculation of Teng’s discontent was rife when Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim announced that there will be no deputy post despite initial presumption that Teng was one of the favourites for the post. However Teng was not even in the exco list announced by Khalid. His party DAP’s three positions were taken by up Teresa Kok, Ronnie Liu and Ean Yong Hian Wah. ”Continued”

He arrived quietly around noon together with the big crowd and joined them in prayers and singing of hymns for about 90 minutes, reports The Star.

When approached by newsmen later, Lim said:

“I am here alone,” said Lim.

“I just wanted to join the ceremony and out of respect to the ceremony, I will not comment or talk on any issue here. ”Continued”

One room enough for Guan Eng

Posted:12:54 Mar-21-2008 Filed under: DAP (行动党), Penang

by Regina William, sun2surf, Mar 21.

He could have lived comfortably and with maximum security at Rumah Tetamu on Macalister Road, the official residence of the chief minister.

However, told it would cost the state government at least RM300,000 to repair it and make it fit for a VIP, Lim Guan Eng decided to forgo the idea, bearing in mind that he had asked Penangites to join him in an austerity drive, which is the hallmark of the DAP-PKR state government.

He told theSun in a phone interview he would rather spend the money for a better cause.

“I found out that if I were to move into Rumah Tetamu, the leaking roof problem will have to be repaired at a cost of at least RM300,000, or even more for other works. The police also wanted me to move in for security reasons, so that I will be safe. ”Continued”

Teresa, 5 roast pigs and a controversy

Posted:19:39 Mar-20-2008 Filed under: DAP (行动党), WTF?, Controversy

 UPDATED 21/03

I am absolutely disgusted at the way some readers of Teresa Kok’s blog reacted when she posted a piece originally titled "5 roast pigs to celebrate election victory".

In that piece she yakked about doing her thank-you rounds at the Salak South wet market. She included a photo of Team Seputeh in the presence of five very yummy looking roast pigs. Only parts of the pigs were visible as the main focus of the photo was on Team Seputeh.

The media must have been stalking her blog as she was hounded by reporters very late last night asking for her comments.

Some holier-than-thou type readers started to pepper her blog with comments such as it was inappropriate la, offensive la, whatever la.

The said photo was later removed and the title of the post changed, not because it was an admission of guilt, but to put a stop to possibility Umno racially exploiting the issue. It is understood Teresa did not authorised the removal of the photo and it was done so by a junior staff. The said photo is back where it belonged but has been cropped.

It is Chinese tradition to have roast pork and booze for celebration and it’s Teresa’s right to publish photos of her celebration without having to be told her celebration is haram.

It is alarming when some non-Muslims try to pander to others and take their actions as gestures of accepting each other.

They are just aknowledging their second and third class citizenship by being oversensitive to a innocent heading and photo.

The following was the original so-called offensive photo. Are you offended?

Two years ago Teresa published this photo about the DAP visiting the pig farmers in Malacca. Did anyone complain?

Coming to terms with new politics

Posted:19:54 Mar-18-2008 Filed under: DAP (行动党), malaysiakini, Commentary

by Josh Hong, malaysiakini, Mar 14.

Much of the nation was immersed in euphoria over the unexpected wins by the major opposition parties last weekend, only to taste some bitter fruits of victory now.

Yes, Umno, MCA, MIC and Gerakan fell like a house of cards in many of their parliamentary and state assembly constituencies, but racist politics is still very much alive and kicking. I mean, within the DAP itself.

Initially, I was extremely heartened to note that Islam, or the Islamic state debate, played a very insignificant role in the just concluded general elections, as opposed to the previous two.

I remember Lim Keng Yeik of Gerakan and Ng Yen Yen of MCA, the two chief non-Muslim propagandists of Umno, going around Chinese areas scare-mongering the voters with ‘no pork, no karaoke and no cosmetics’ talks in 1999 and 2004, but those ridiculous words were conspicuously absent this time around. ”Continued”
